The ultimate expression of balance and tension. Designed by Austrian-Mexican designer David Pompa, the Meta Parallel 142 Pendant is a delicate, architectural light sculpture that challenges the relationship between gravity and space. By suspending solid, heavy stone elements within a sleek, linear metal frame, this striking fixture creates a poetic dialogue between raw materiality and refined contemporary design.
A Play on Perception and Weight
At its core, the Meta Parallel collection is an exploration of visual harmony. The 142 model features two slender, hand-carved stone columns that appear to effortlessly float within a horizontal metal plate. This minimalist composition turns the structural frame into a bold visual object, creating an installation-like presence. Whether specified as a solitary statement piece over a high-end kitchen island or clustered in a dynamic, multi-fixture arrangement in a boutique hotel lobby, the Meta Parallel delivers understated luxury.
Heritage Craftsmanship & Honest Materials
Meticulously handcrafted in Mexico City, the Meta Parallel champions native Mexican materials and artisanal techniques. Designers can curate the fixture by selecting between two distinct palettes: the deep, porous texture of native Volcanic Rock (Recinto) paired with sleek black powder-coated aluminum, or the elegant, light grey Fiorito stone paired with solid, hand-polished brass. The raw, organic texture of the stone perfectly contrasts the precision-milled metals, ensuring every single fixture is a unique, numbered work of art.
Warm, Sculptural Illumination
While serving as a stunning architectural sculpture by day, the fixture transforms into a highly functional light source by night. Equipped with two warm white G9 LED bulbs, the pendant delivers a beautifully diffused, ambient glow (2700K). The light washes down the textured stone columns, highlighting their natural porosity and creating a rich, atmospheric depth in any interior, while offering the ease of replaceable lamps.
Why Designers Specify the Meta Parallel 142:
- Material Contrast: The striking juxtaposition of raw volcanic rock or Fiorito stone against refined metals (brass or black aluminum) brings an incredibly tactile, earthy elegance to modern spaces.
- Architectural Illusion: The floating stone columns create a distinct focal point, playing with visual weight and gravity to captivate the eye.
- Installation Flexibility: The clean, linear geometry makes it stunning on its own, but it is specifically designed to be easily multiplied into large, custom sculptural arrays for commercial projects.
- Authentic Heritage: Each piece features a progressive serial number engraved on the fixture, guaranteeing the authenticity and bespoke, handmade nature of the Mexican craftsmanship.
